Scientists have reportedly developed genetically modified cows that will produce ‘human’ milk. According to a report in The Sunday Telegraph , they have introduced human genes into dairy cows to produce milk similar to human milk. The researchers believe that milk from these herds of 300 cows can provide an alternative to human breast milk and formula milk for babies, which is often criticised as being an inferior substitute. Researcher Professor Ning Li, director of the State Key Laboratories for AgroBiotechnology at the China Agricultural University, said the milk would be as safe as milk from ordinary dairy cows. “The milk tastes stronger than normal milk. Within 10 years, people will be able to pick up these products at the supermarket,” the Daily Mail quoted Li as saying. eddah: Four men in Saudi Arabia could be executed after they were charged of raping an expatriate woman in front of her six-year-old daughter and threatening to kill both, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported. The two Saudis, one Yemeni and a Somali could not deny their crime after they used their mobile phones to film the rape at the victim’s house in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah, Okaz Arabic language daily said. The unnamed woman had phoned her husband at work telling him she heard a noise outside the house before she opened the door and came face to face with the four, who were armed with knives and axes. Three of them pushed the woman into the house and raped her in front of her daughter. After filming the rape, they threatened to come back and kill the woman and her daughter if she reports the incident.
